395365_302148663171385_2088818976_n“Well I promised a testimony and you’ll like this one. I started my VLCD on 9 Dec 2011. I weighed 260 pounds, and my blood pressure (with 3 medications) was 217/127. I stayed exactly to the book taking 6 drops every four hours from first thing in the morning…and felt zero hunger at any time. I did have some challenges on the fourth day… with a headache that almost brought me to my knees, but the next day I took some asprin and it subsided. By the 10th day my BP had dropped to 120/80 so I dropped my Norvasc med. After about another 10 days it was back to normal again, so I cut my Benicar pill in half. My BP stayed at about 140/85 until the last week when it started rising slightly. I believe once I start excercising that will stop and I should be off all meds within a couple of months.

Weight wise, the results were even more dramatic. I didn’t lose even half a pound for the first 4 days, but on the 5th I dropped 4 pounds and have averaged almost a pound a day since. It seemed common to go two, sometimes even three days at the same weight, and then two pounds would drop. Initially those stalls were frustrating, but after I saw the trend I just waited.The tape measure was even more exciting. 5 inches of total loss the first week (waist and hips were most dramatic). That trend continued every week… week 2- 7.5 inches, week three- 11 inches, week four- 15.5, week five- 21.5, and today 25 total inches. I went from a size 46 pair of pants, to a 38… been 15 years since I’ve worn a 38.

This morning I weighed 225 pounds. I was very serious about this diet, and did it exactly the way the book recommended… that’s the only counsel I would give anyone who tries it. Also, I believe if you can get past the 5th day the rest is a cakewalk… boring, but easy. I am starting the low/no carb phase tomorrow morning, and really look forward to what my body will look like in the next 3 weeks. I will report back at that time. Why Cleanse? – Liver Detox

A properly functioning liver is vital to health.  Have you been on any medications? Or are you currently while on the HCG Program or getting ready to start it?

We recommend that you do a cleanse before starting this program. It could be the difference of losing a pound or 2 a day verses a half pound to 1/4 pound a day.  At the very minimum it is best to do a 2 week liver cleanse.  If you have been on any medications (birth control, pain relievers, anti-inflammatories, cholesterol, NSAID’s etc, etc.) a 4-week whole body cleanse is truly in your best interest.  This will help avoid a plateau and also make the plan more successful with ridding the weight more quickly! What is the liver and how does it function? The liver is your largest internal organ and it performs many functions including detoxification of the body. Caramel Apple Pie

My sister in law called the other night wondering what in the world she could make as a special treat for her friend who is on the HGC Program Phase 2.  We thumbed thru the amazing HCG Diet Gourmet Cookbook and found this recipe for Caramel Apple Pie!  Looks delicious!!

Caramel Apple Pie

1 apple

I tablespoon lemon juice

1 tablespoon water

1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar

1 packet powdered Stevia

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Pinch of nutmeg

1 tablespoon water

English Toffee Stevia to taste

Slice apple into very thing slices.  Arrange in layers in a round 3″ creme Brulee dish.  For each layer, sprinkle generously with cinnamon, nutmeg, and powdered and English Toffee Stevia.  Continue layering with spices until dish is full.  Sprinkle lemon juice, apple cider vinegar, and water over the apple slices.  Bake at 375 degrees for approximately 20-25 minutes or until apples are cooked and top is slightly crispy.  Drizzle with additional English Toffee Stevia if desired.  Serve warm!

.5 gram protein, 0 fat, 95 calories

Phase 3 modifications: Add a small amount of melted butter to the mixture and top with a tablespoon of chopped walnuts or pecans.

HCG Grilled Chicken Taco’s

100 grams (3.5 oz) cooked chicken, shredded

1/4 cup water

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 clove garlic

1/8 teaspoon oregeno

cayenne pepper to taste

pinch of cummin

cilantro, chopped

2-4 lettuce leaves, washed, dried

In a small pan cook chicken in broth, add spices.  Deglaze the pan with lemon juice or water.  Wrap chicken in lettuce leaves and eat with hands like a taco. May top with small amount of salsa.

(1 protein, 1 vegetable)

My Alaska HCG Diet Journey – Nursing Mom’s

For those of you that don’t know already, we just had our 2nd little girl about 2.5 months ago!  Yes, I am already ready to lose the weight!  My body loves to hold onto the weight after and I continue to gain weight even while nursing.  After talking with Dr.Shane, I found it is very normal for women to gain weight after baby.  Bad news……if I don’t get a handle on this I will probably continue to gain weight.  I have decided to do a modified HCG Diet Program while nursing and share the results along the way! Here is what Dr. Shane had to say: “Your body will tell you what is the best for you and how much is sufficient and how much is not.  Just listen and be attentive to what is going on.  The body naturally puts on the fat in order to have the stores necessary for you and the baby after delivery so that makes perfect sense.  Of course, the body also knows how to take it off properly, you just need to give your body what it needs to do that.  Too much food intake will put more on, not enough will put more on.  Both extremes put the body into “storage mode” for exactly the opposite reasons.
While nursing, it is my understanding that the body has a natural amount of hCG flowing in order to create the milk and nutrients for the baby when the mother is between meals and in “fasting” periods such as sleeping.  Thus, going into a higher protein, no carbs or sugars, and being careful with types of veggies, beans and other foods is key to helping your body get the excess fat stores utilized and burned off.  The hCG formula isn’t necessary, to my understanding while nursing.  You can utilize the Slim Support, Slim Trim Tea, and other types of metabolism boosting, cleansing, and supporting supplements during this process.”

So here we go!  Starting weight is 162.8 September 9th.  I will be using the Slim Support and Slim Trim Tea while taking the Doctor’s advice on my diet.
